If you have been impacted by a life-altering situation or event—such as a loss of a loved one or a permanent change in condition—and are experiencing physical or psychological symptoms as a result, we encourage you to seek support through the BAYADA Support Network.

Personality or attitude changes
Feeling of grief, remorse, sadness, or shame
Depression or anxiety
Anger and irritability
Withdrawing from normal activities, especially things you used to enjoy

Tips for coping with stress
Ways you can help yourself:
Seek support from a family member or friend
Give yourself permission to react, physically and emotionally
Keep your life as routine as possible
Take part in a mix of physical and relaxation exercises to counter physical reactions to stress
Avoid alcohol and drug use
Eat regularly; minimize your intake of sugars and caffeine
Take time to take care of you
Treat yourself with compassion
Seek professional help—BAYADA can offer you an initial support session with a trained counselor
Ways your loved ones can help you:
Avoid expressions like, “everything will be okay” or “this is fate”
Don’t take anger or reactions personally
Give time and space to work out feelings
Offer sincere sorrow
Help with everyday tasks, such as cooking and cleaning
Encourage seeking professional help if symptoms do not lessen within a few weeks
