Personal Care and Companionship
Personal care and companionship services help individuals manage their daily lives so they can be independent, safe, and comfortable at home. Professional BAYADA caregivers such as home health aides (HHAs) or certified nursing assistants (CNAs) can provide ongoing assistance with what are commonly called activities of daily living (ADLs), such as:
- Bathing, grooming, using the toilet, and dressing
- Meal planning and preparation
- Light housekeeping, laundry, and running errands
- Medication reminders and picking up prescriptions
- Escort to appointments or meetings, helping with activities or hobbies, and general companionship
This type of care is often sought out to enable safe, independent living at home, or to provide companionship, assistance, and supervision for a loved one living with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease. Care is available up to 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including the option for live-in help.

Who can benefit from personal care and companionship services?
- Family caregivers who are ready for professional help
Many of our clients who take advantage of our services are looking for help caring for an aging parent or relative. Balancing work, kids, and home life can become even tougher when also trying to help a parent or other family member stay safe and independent. BAYADA can help fill in the gaps so you can feel confident your loved one is in safe, reliable hands when you’re not there.
- Families managing Alzheimer’s disease or dementia
Our care is often chosen by families as an alternative to an assisted living community or out-of-the-home adult day care. For dementia and Alzheimer’s clients especially, being able to remain in a familiar, safe environment can be extremely beneficial when living with memory loss. BAYADA is also pioneering a Dementia and Alzheimer’s Care training program for caregivers to provide the best support possible for clients and their families.
