Doctor-Ordered, Expert Home Health Care That Speeds Recovery and Prevents Setbacks

There’s no better place to recover from a surgery, illness, or hospital stay than in the comfort of home. Our team of nurses and physical, occupational, and speech therapists are committed to helping you regain your strength and function, while improving your overall health. They also teach you and your loved ones to effectively manage a chronic condition like COPD and diabetes—always with a goal of keeping you safe at home and out of the hospital.

These short-term home health services are typically 100% covered under the Medicare home health benefit, so you can focus on healing and getting back to living life your way.

Learn more about BAYADA Home Health Care services

BAYADA Nurses help people heal after surgery, injury, or illness and support those who need regular care for chronic health problems like COPD or diabetes. They provide care for wounds, check vital signs, manage medications, deliver IV therapy, and more.

By guiding you through specific exercises and movements, physical therapists can help you gain strength and balance after a joint replacement, lengthy hospitalization, or any physical setback. Their goal is to help you get stronger, move more safely without falling, and recover from illness so you can get back to doing the things you used to do.

BAYADA Occupational Therapists show clients new, safer ways to perform everyday activities like getting dressed, bathing, and doing household chores. With a focus on fall prevention, they recommend ways to make your home safer (eg, installing grab bars; removing trip hazards) and teach the proper way to move with mobility devices like canes and walkers.

BAYADA Speech Therapists help people communicate and swallow more safely, especially after a stroke or other neurological or physical challenges. They work with clients to improve speech, memory, and daily communication, making it easier to connect with loved ones and enjoy everyday activities like eating and talking.

BAYADA Social Workers offer a variety of client services—from emotional support to suggesting practical solutions to short- or long-term needs. They guide and connect families to community resources, including those that help overcome financial and logistical obstacles.

Caregivers such as home health aides help with personal care tasks like bathing and dressing. You may be eligible for personal care assistance while you are receiving nursing and/or physical, occupational, or speech therapy.

FAQs

Answers to common questions about our services, how we support you and your family, and more

Skilled service need

You may qualify if your health care provider has recommended skilled care at home—such as nursing or physical, occupational, or speech therapy—on a short-term basis for recovery or to manage a health condition.

Homebound status

For most people using Medicare, you need to be considered “homebound,” which means it’s hard to leave home without help from someone else.

Physician referral

A referral or order from your health care provider is needed to start home health services. This confirms that receiving care at home is the right choice for you.

Appropriate payer source

Check your coverage. Medicare and Medicaid are the most common payers, but private insurance or self-pay options may also be accepted.

Geographic location

You need to live in an area served by BAYADA’s home health offices.

Ask for a referral

Your provider can write a referral to begin home health services.

Contact BAYADA

You, your provider, or another health care professional can reach out to BAYADA. A friendly intake coordinator will confirm your referral, collect your details, and guide you through any paperwork or insurance steps so care can start quickly.

Admission visit

A BAYADA clinician will visit your home to learn about your needs, answer your questions, and create a personalized plan of care. Based on that plan, we assemble a care team just for you.

Services begin

Your care team will schedule visits—usually 1–2 times per week—and begin providing services. We adjust your plan as your needs and goals change. If more time is needed to reach your goals, services can be extended with your insurer’s approval.

Medicare

If you qualify, services are usually covered 100%, with no out-of-pocket cost to you.

Medicaid

Coverage varies by state, but often covers the full cost. BAYADA will verify benefits and obtain any necessary authorizations before your care starts.

Private insurance

Some private insurance plans may cover home health services. We’ll help you understand your benefits so you can get the care you need.
