ALS Program Overview
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease, is a life-altering illness that presents many challenges to clients and their families. BAYADA Home Health Care professionals understand the difficulties of daily living for people with ALS. BAYADA is committed to enhancing the lives of people with ALS. That’s why we have created an ALS program that focuses on developing initiatives at BAYADA to enhance the quality of care and life for our current and perspective clients with ALS. To help us reach our goals, we have partnered with The ALS Association and collaborate with them to raise awareness and advise our clinical initiatives.
BAYADA worked with The ALS Association to develop the only nationally-certified training program for BAYADA Home Health Aides caring for people with ALS. A similar training for nurses will be available in 2016.
BAYADA offers an ALS training program for home health aides and is currently in the process of developing a training program for our nurses as well. As BAYADA continues to advance ALS-specific care programs, clients and their families can expect specialized ALS-specific case management and care services to meet the unique challenges that they face every day living with this disease.
We understand the complexity of caring for a person with ALS and help our clients live life to the fullest by providing exceptional and specialized home health care services with compassion, excellence, and reliability. BAYADA aims to become the provider of choice by becoming experts in providing home health care to people with ALS. Our partnership with The ALS Association gives us the opportunity to do even more to help people living with this disease. It is with a great sense of responsibility and compassion that we are truly honored to play a larger role in helping those with ALS live at home with comfort, independence, and dignity until there is a cure.
