What You Think You Know About Hospice: The Truth May Surprise You

FAQs

Answers to common questions about our services, how we support you and your family, and more.

Hospice care focuses on comfort, dignity, and quality of life for people living with a life - limiting illness. A team of caregivers—including doctors, nurses, social workers, spiritual counselors, and aides—supports both the patient and their family. The goal is to ease pain, bring comfort, and provide emotional and spiritual support every step of the way.

Starting hospice is a very personal—sometimes, fearful—decision. But it doesn’t have to be. When someone receives a prognosis of six months or less, hospice care becomes an option, but many families put off making that decision because it feels like giving up. Rather, hospice brings the kind of comfort and support that give people the opportunity to live out their time—their way—with a better quality of life. In fact, it has been proven that people live an average of 29 days longer when they start hospice early
