Through Missouri’s Consumer Directed Services (CDS) program, eligible individuals can choose a family member or trusted person to provide their care — and that caregiver can get paid. Integrity Home Care helps guide you through the process and provides the support you need to get started.

Everything you need to know about eligibility, enrollment, and coverage—so you can focus on what matters most.
Can I really get paid to care for my family member?
Yes. If your loved one meets the clinical and financial eligibility requirements for Pennsylvania’s Medicaid waiver programs (specifically CHC), you can be hired and paid as their caregiver.
Who can be the caregiver?
Most family members, friends, or trusted individuals can serve as caregivers. However, under Pennsylvania law, a spouse, legal guardian, power of attorney (POA), or representative payee cannot be the paid caregiver.
Do I have to leave my current agency?
If you are already receiving waiver services through another provider, you have the right to choose your agency. We can help you facilitate a smooth transition to BAYADA if you decide our clinical support and benefits are a better fit for your family.
Is there any cost to apply?
No. BAYADA provides a free consultation to help you understand the program and how to get started.
How many hours can I get paid for?
The number of hours is determined by your loved one’s insurance provider (Managed Care Organization) based on their specific care needs. During the enrollment process, an assessor will visit the home to determine the appropriate level of support.
How long does it take to get started?
The state’s eligibility process typically takes between 60 and 90 days. Because it can be a long wait, we recommend starting your application as soon as possible. BAYADA stays in touch with you throughout this period so you’re ready to begin the moment approval comes through.
Steps to Apply for Waiver Services
What tasks am I allowed to do as a paid caregiver?
You can be paid for helping with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, meal preparation, light housekeeping, medication reminder, and accompanying your loved one to medical appointments.
Does my loved one need to have both Medicare and Medicaid?
Most participants in the CHC Waiver are "dual-eligible" (having both Medicare and Medicaid), but you may still qualify if your loved one only has Medicaid and requires a nursing facility level of care. We can help you check these specific requirements.
