How It Works

Getting Started with Missouri Consumer Directed Services (CDS)

To qualify, the person receiving care must:

  • Have Missouri Medicaid

  • Be age 18 or older

  • Need help with daily living activities (bathing, dressing, mobility, meals, etc.)

  • Be able to direct their own care

Our team can help you understand the requirements and next steps.

You can select someone you trust, including:

  • Adult children

  • Other relatives

  • Friends

  • Neighbors

This person provides care while you remain in control of decisions.

Integrity Home Care helps make CDS easier by supporting you with:

  • Paperwork and enrollment guidance

  • Payroll services

  • Training resources

  • Ongoing support when questions come up

In Missouri CDS, the client is the employer — and we help you manage the details

COMMON QUESTIONS

Everything you need to know about eligibility, enrollment, and coverage—so you can focus on what matters most.

Yes. If your loved one meets the clinical and financial eligibility requirements for Pennsylvania’s Medicaid waiver programs (specifically CHC), you can be hired and paid as their caregiver.

Most family members, friends, or trusted individuals can serve as caregivers. However, by law in PA, a spouse, legal guardian, POA, or representative payee cannot be the paid caregiver.

If you are already receiving waiver services through another provider, you have the right to choose your agency. We can help you facilitate a smooth transition to BAYADA if you decide our clinical support and benefits are a better fit for your family.

No. BAYADA provides a free consultation to help you understand the program and how to begin the application process.

The number of hours is determined by your loved one’s insurance provider (Managed Care Organization) based on their specific care needs. During the enrollment process, an assessor will visit the home to determine the appropriate level of support.

The state’s eligibility process typically takes between 60 and 90 days. Because it can be a long wait, we recommend starting your application as soon as possible. BAYADA stays in touch with you throughout this period so you’re ready to begin the moment approval comes through.

You can be paid for helping with "Activities of Daily Living" (ADLs). This includes bathing, dressing, meal preparation, light housekeeping, medication reminders, and escorting your loved one to medical appointments.

Most participants in the CHC Waiver are "dual-eligible" (having both Medicare and Medicaid), but you may still qualify if your loved one only has Medicaid and requires a nursing facility level of care. We can help you check these specific requirements.
