Bayada Nurses Awards Scholarships to 32 Employees

In August 2001, Bayada Nurses established the Bayada Nurses Employee Scholarship Fund, which is open to all Bayada Nurses. Interested staff members were required to submit an application, written essay, and two letters of recommendation. A selection committee then reviewed these submissions. More than 90 applications were received, and a total of 32 scholarships (valued at $19,599) were awarded.

"We were excited and amazed by the positive response to this program," said Mark Baiada, president and founder of Bayada Nurses. "We are thrilled to be able to help further the educational goals of our nurses. In addition, because the majority of recipients are using their scholarships to further their nursing education, we believe this is an important contribution toward alleviating the current nursing shortage."

Louise Cruz, RN Providence, RI office	Victoria Smith, HHA Lawrenceville, NJ office	Andria Jackson, LPN Paoli, PA Office	Annie Wood, RN Willow Grove, PA office

Terri Allen received a $500 scholarship, which she is using to take pre-nursing courses. Allen currently works as a HHA for Bayada Nurses's Washington Township office. She resides in Sewell, NJ.

Tracy Amerman received a $1,000 scholarship, which she is using to defray the costs of becoming an RN. Amerman currently works as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for Bayada Nurses's Allentown office and lives in Nazareth, PA.

Lori Baker received a $400 scholarship, which she is using to pursue her studies to become an RN. Baker currently works as a LPN and lives in Troy, PA. She works for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton office.

Ellen Busher received a $500 scholarship, which she is using to pursue her bachelor's degree in nursing. An RN working for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton office, Busher resides in Weatherly, PA.

Millicent Carter received a $1,000 scholarship, which she is using to defray the costs of becoming an LPN. Carter currently works as a Home Health Aide for Bayada Nurses's Winston-Salem office. She is a resident of Winston-Salem, NC.

Beatriz Cotto received a $375 scholarship, which she is using to take an English as a Second Language course. Cotto currently works as a Home Health Aide for Bayada Nurses's Millville office. She lives in Bridgeton, NJ.

Louise Cruz received a $500 scholarship, which she is using to take a course related to school nursing. Cruz currently works as an RN for Bayada Nurses's Providence office. She lives in West Warwick, RI.

Ann Louise Custer received a $494 scholarship, which she is using to take a public health course. A Tucson resident, Custer currently works as an Occupational Therapist for Bayada Nurses's Tucson office.

Twanda Davis received a $1,000 scholarship, which she is using to pursue her master's degree in nursing. An RN who works for the Voorhees Pediatrics office, Davis resides in Mt. Holly, NJ.

Karen Deckman received a $500 scholarship, which she is using to defray the costs of becoming an LPN. Deckman currently works as a Home Health Aide for Bayada Nurses's North Brunswick office. She lives in Cliffwood Beach, NJ.

Jeanette DeGregorio received a $356 scholarship, which she is using to take a course in microbiology. DeGregorio currently works as an LPN for Bayada Nurses's Willow Grove Pediatric office. She lives in Holland, PA.

Deborah Hardeman received a $125 scholarship, which she is using to pursue her goal of becoming an LPN. Hardeman currently works as a Home Health Aide for Bayada Nurses's Atlantic City office. She resides in Pleasantville, NJ.

Elsie Hartigan received a $1,000 scholarship, which she is using to study critical care pediatrics. Hartigan currently works as an LPN for Bayada Nurses's Mt. Laurel Pediatrics office. She lives in Browns Mills, NJ.

Angie Hubler received a $1,000 scholarship, which she is using to pursue her education to become an RN. Hubler is an LPN working for the Allentown office. She lives in Ashland, PA.

Melanie Iles, a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), received a $400 scholarship, which is using to take a course in LPN mobility. Iles works for the Voorhees Pediatrics office and lives in Pitman, NJ.

Andria Jackson received a $500 scholarship, which she is using to take a course in psychology. Jackson currently works as an LPN for Bayada Nurses's Paoli Pediatrics office. She lives in Exton, PA.

Jenneh James received a $500 scholarship, which she is using to take a course to further her goal of becoming an RN. James currently works as a LPN for Bayada Nurses's Wayne office. She is a resident of Lansdowne, PA.

Djuna Jones received a $1,000 scholarship, which will help defray the costs of attending medical school. An RN working for the Voorhees Pediatrics office, Jones lives in Clementon, NJ.

Georgerenee Jones received a $364 scholarship, which she is using to take a course to further her goal of becoming an RN. Jackson currently works as an LPN for Bayada Nurses's Philadelphia Private office. She is a Philadelphia resident.

Marie Joseph received a $1,000 scholarship, which she is using to defray the costs of becoming an LPN. Joseph currently works as a Home Health Aide for Bayada Nurses's Morristown office. She lives in South Orange, NJ.

Ursula MacDonald received a $675 scholarship, which she is using to study massage therapy. An RN who works for the North Brunswick office, Mac Donald resides in Long Branch, NJ.

Regina Marrone received a $500 scholarship, which she is using to pursue her education to become an RN. Marrone is an LPN who also works for the Paoli Pediatrics office. She resides in Quarryville, PA.

Mary Ann Mecca received a $400 scholarship, which she is using to pursue her studies to become a RN. Mecca currently works as an LPN for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton office. She resides in Wilkes-Barre, PA.

Rosemary McCormick, LPN, received a $500 scholarship, which she is using to take classes required to become an RN. She resides in Cherry Hill, NJ and works for the Voorhees Pediatrics office.

Carol Milroy received a $1,000 scholarship, which she is using to pursue her education to become an RN. Milroy is currently working as an LPN for the Mt. Laurel Pediatrics office. She resides in Palmyra, NJ.

Christine Robertson received a $460 scholarship, which she is using to pursue her education to become a RN. An LPN, Robertson works for the Morristown office and resides in Annandale, NJ.

Tamika Ryals received a $125 scholarship, which she is using to complete a course of study so she can received her GED. Ryals currently works as a Home Health Aide for the Philadelphia Private office. She lives in Philadelphia, PA.

Dottie Smith received a $700 scholarship, which she is using to complete a course of study so she can received her BSN. Smith currently works as an RN for the Wayne office and resides in Newtown Square, PA.

Victoria Smith received a $1,000 scholarship, which she is using to study macroeconomics. Smith currently works as a Home Health Aide for the Lawrenceville office and is a resident of Trenton, NJ.

Catherine Thompson, LPN, received a $325 scholarship, which is applying to her training to become an RN. An employee of the Voorhees Pediatrics office, Thompson is a resident of Pitman, NJ.

Brian Webb Williard received a $400 scholarship, which he is using to pursue his education to become an RN. Williard is currently an LPN who works for the Winston-Salem Skilled Office. Williard lives in East Bend, NC.

Ann Wood received a $1,000 scholarship, which she is using to study Spanish. Wood currently works as an RN for the Willow Grove Adult office. She lives in Roslyn, PA.
