2003 - Bayada Nurses Awards Scholarships to 103 Employees
The
Bayada Nurses Employee Scholarship Fund was established in 2001 as a way
to help employees further their educational goals. The program is open
to all Bayada Nurses employees who have worked for the company for at
least 6 months and awards up to $50,000 in scholarship funds each year.
Interested employees must submit an application, written essay, and two
letters of recommendation. A selection committee then reviews the submissions
and selects the recipients. In 2003, 125 applications were received, and
a total of 103 scholarships (valued at $57,696) were awarded!
"We continue to be excited by the positive response to this program,"
said Mark Baiada, president and founder of Bayada Nurses. "We are thrilled
to be able to help further the educational goals of our employees. In
addition, because the majority of recipients are using their scholarships
to further their nursing and health care education, we believe this is
an important contribution toward alleviating the current nursing shortage."
This year's recipients included 52 Home Health Aides (HHAs), 34 Licensed
Practical Nurses (LPNs), and 17 Registered Nurses (RNs). Names of all
recipients are listed below.
