Finally, A Show of Honor For The Heroes in Nursing History

Join Bayada Nurses at The Nightingale's Song Exhibit at the Philadelphia Museum of Art

Philadelphia - Bayada Nurses, Home Care Specialists, proudly announces its support of  “The Nightingale’s Song,” an exhibition to recognize the contributions that nurses have made to the medical field.
“We are glad to endorse an exhibit that gives the nursing profession the honor and respect that it has long deserved,” says J. Mark Baiada, president and founder of Bayada Nurses.  “At Bayada, we respect the nursing profession tremendously.  We really believe nurses are heroes.”

The first major American museum exhibit honoring nurses, “The Nightingale’s Song: Nurses and Nursing in the Ars Medica Collection” will be on display in the Berman Gallery of the Philadelphia Museum of Art from August 26 through October 29, 2000.  This collection holds an array of historic prints, photographs and ephemera celebrating the nursing profession from the late 15th century to the present.  In one show can be seen six centuries of nursing history, from Florence Nightingale’s military hospital during the Crimean War to modern day America.

In association with the Center for the Study of the History of Nursing, University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing, Bayada Nurses provided funding for the publication accompanying the “The Nightingale’s Song.”   Additionally, to coincide with the exhibit, Bayada Nurses is the Title Sponsor for the Gala Reception and Awards Ceremony honoring present day nursing heroes, hosted by The Center for the Study of the History of Nursing, to be held in the Berman Gallery on October 4, 2000.

Bayada Nurses will hold Open Houses serving continental breakfasts in the Seminar Room of the Museum on September 10 and October 8.  Reservations are required for these events, so please RSVP to 1-888-4-BAYADA.

Founded by J. Mark Baiada in 1975, Bayada Nurses is an independently owned home health agency that employs more than 5,000 RNs, LPNs, home health aides and therapists, working from more than 60 offices in 11 states.  Bayada Nurses offers a broad spectrum of home care services including pediatrics, geriatrics, rehabilitation, therapy, contract services, programs for ventilator care, care for the terminally ill and more.
