Caregivers and Clients Honored during National Home Care Month in November

October 19, 2004 – Moorestown, NJ –Bayada Nurses is honoring their employees and their clients as part of a month-long celebration of National Home Care Month (NHCM) in November. The event was designated by the National Association for Home Care (NAHC), and was expanded from a week to a month in 1995.

“It is a very exciting time of the year for us because we have the opportunity to spotlight our employees, honor our home care clients and their families, promote a greater understanding of the home care industry, and share the wonderful employment opportunities we have with students and other health care professionals”, says Mark Baiada, founder of Bayada Nurses.

Employees are recognized through programs and events defined by their local offices. One director, Sue Roselle, is offering a Reward Day in the tranquil setting of a wellness retreat, in gratitude for the excellent care her staff provides to their clients and families. “We wanted to say thank you by giving them back the kind of nurturing they provide to their clients on a daily basis. They truly are Heroes on the Home Front”, says Roselle. The lucky employees will be treated to a group of speakers, massages, aromatherapy, meditation, wellness consultants, goodie bags, lunch and even a makeover.

To honor and show their appreciation to their home care clients, Bayada Nurses sends a card of appreciation to each client during National Home Care Month in gratitude for them choosing Bayada Nurses as their home care provider. The local offices may also host client appreciation luncheons or do individual recognition efforts for their clients in their clients’ homes.

Job opportunities for RNs are expected to grow faster than any other health care profession in the next ten years. “National Home Care Month as the perfect opportunity to reach out to students and other health care professionals”, says Marion Fiero, director of the Philadelphia pediatrics office. In addition to company-sponsored training and continuing education programs, Fiero recently awarded five employees with scholarships enabling them to attend a pediatric health care conference. “I’m thrilled to offer these wonderful employees the opportunity to further develop their skills in delivering high-quality, innovative, and cost-effective professional nursing excellence”, says Fiero.

Founded in 1975 by J. Mark Baiada, Bayada Nurses is an independently-owned home health care company employing more than 10,000 nurses, aides and therapists in over 100 offices in 15 states.
