Premier Personal Care & Health Services Transitions Services to Bayada Nurses

Banner Elk, NC - Effective January 1, 2004, Premier Personal Care & Health Services, Inc. (PPC) will transition its home care operations to Bayada Nurses. Jim Heaton, PPC President, will consult with Bayada Nurses throughout the transition. PPC’s Banner Elk location will become a Bayada Nurses satellite recruiting office, and Bayada Nurses’s Conover office will coordinate and provide client services to residents of Avery, Watauga, Ashe, Mitchell, Yancey, and Burke counties. The majority of PPC’s office and field staff will remain with Bayada Nurses.

"Bayada Nurses and PPC have similar business philosophies—to provide quality care and to nurture long-term relationships with our employees and clients. Our goal is to provide a seamless transition for all clients and employees,” said Mark Baiada, President of Bayada Nurses. “The experience and expertise of the PPC staff will be a valuable addition to the Bayada Nurses organization—allowing us to provide top quality service to even more clients.”

Mr. Heaton agrees with this assessment: “I was determined to find the right organization to serve as PPC’s successor so that each and every client and employee was taken care of. Security and the stability of the company were two very important factors in my search. Bayada Nurses shares my philosophy of taking care of clients with dignity and respect, and its national presence will secure a bright future for our employees. Transitioning PPC’s operations to Bayada Nurses truly enhances the health care services available to High Country residents.”

PPC was established in 1999 and focused primarily on providing private duty personal care services throughout the High Country.

Bayada Nurses was established in 1975 and is an independently owned home health care agency that employs more than 6,000 nurses, home health aides, and therapists working from more than 90 offices in 15 states. Bayada Nurses has 13 offices serving more than 85% of North Carolina. Bayada Nurses provides a wide spectrum of home care services—ranging from skilled nursing to companionship services—to both pediatric and adult patients. Many of the North Carolina offices specialize in providing high-tech trach and vent care.
