Nursing School Offers Free Tuition to Combat Shortage

In a dramatic response to the current nursing shortage, the Ohio Valley General Hospital (OVGH) School of Nursing (located in Pittsburgh, PA) is offering all incoming nursing school students free tuition and a job when they graduate. According to OVGH president Bill Provenzano, this effort is in direct response to the national nursing shortage. "Nursing is a rewarding but tough job. Our nursing students must be committed to a rigorous training and educational program. That is why it's important for us to compete for the best students…." The free tuition (worth $16,500) is possible due to community donations to the Josephine Roseta Educational Fund.
