Hero of the Quarter
Holly Callahan,
RN, is a Hero on the Home Front to her clients and supervisors alike because
of her reliability, skill, and caring. Her long-time work with a pediatric
client truly exemplifies what it means to be a home care nurse. From her
client's mother: "Whatever she can do to help make our home as normal
and stress-free as possible, she does, without me having to ask. She has,
on more than one occasion, gone above and beyond her nursing duties….Holly
has truly been a hero to our home, but more importantly to [my son]."
From a supervisor: "Because the clients are so comfortable with her care,
they are content and at peace when she is at their home. Loyal, devoted
and steadfast, Holly truly is a Hero on the Home Front." From the Division
Director: "Holly demonstrates many qualities of a hero, but also exhibits
some characteristics that are unheard of in a home care nurses. She is
a model field nurses. I only wish we could clone her."
Penny Sneed, LPN, is a Hero on the Home Front
to her clients and supervisors alike because of her reliability, skill,
and caring. Her work with a pediatric client truly exemplifies what it
means to be a home care nurse. From her client's mother: "Having a special
needs child is hard work sometimes, and Penny always helps us by making
some of the many phone calls and going to all the doctor's visits with
us. My daughter has developed a bond with her, and I know [my daughter]
loves her like one of her own. Nursing takes very special people, and
we are honored to have Penny as one of ours." From a supervisor: "Being
the Nursing Supervisor, I see first-hand the quality of care our client
receives from Penny Sneed. She remains very optimistic about [the client's]
care and works diligently to help [the client] reach each milestone. She
is an inspiration to me. Many times Penny has worked over on her shift
to assist the parents with multiple doctor's appointments. The parents
trust her judgment, and I respect Penny and her sharp intuition with assessing
our clients.
Rose Lewis, HHA, started work with Bayada Nurses
in January 1978. Having worked more than 32,639 hours in 24 years is a
great accomplishment. But even more impressive is Rose's simple values,
strong work ethic, sensitive nature, and excellent skills. Described by
a client's family as "a Florence Nightingale," Rose Lewis never misses
work, rarely takes vacation, and acts as an "Everyday Hero" to the clients
she serves. Office staff and contractors agree that Rose Lewis is "one
of the best." For all these reasons, Rose Lewis truly deserves to be known
as a Hero on the Home Front.
